Edward Chin is Convenor of 2047 HK Monitor. He is a radio host/commentator based in Hong Kong, focusing on finance and current affairs.  He also has over 25 years of professional experience in hedge funds and social impact investments.

 

Chin was a leader in the Umbrella Movement in Hong Kong in 2014, urging the financial community to defend Hong Kong’s core values and democracy. Chin organised and published “Ten Requests to the Communist Party of China” in the UK Financial Times and Hong Kong’s Apple Daily, urging the CCP and President Xi Jing Ping of China to honour “One Country, Two Systems” as prescribed in the Basic Law of Hong Kong. 

 

Chin continues to be a critic of the erosion of freedom, the rule of law and autonomy in Hong Kong. Chin is a Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute. He studied Speech Communication at the University of Minnesota in the US, and obtained his MBA from the University of Toronto.
