Hon. Jiri Oberfalzer is the vice president of the Senate of the Czech Republic since 2004. He is concurrently Vice-chair of the Senate’s Committee on Agenda and Procedure. Prior to being elected to the office of the senate, Mr Oberfalzer served as head of the Press department of the Chancellery of the President of Czechoslovakia and executive director of the Patriae Foundation in the 1990s. He also headed the district organization of the Civic Democratic Party in Beroun in 2009. He graduated from the Charles University of Prague from the faculty of Mathematics and Physics. Mr Oberfalzer is a father of five children.
