Rinpoche Shartse Khensur Jangchup CHOEDEN is a prominent voice on the Nalanda tradition among the younger generation of leaders who have emerged from the great Tibetan Universities in exile based in southern India.  After scoring Geshe Lharampa or distinction akin to a valedictorian in PhD in Western academia in his monastic studies, Rinpoche Jangchup Choeden served as the abbot of the Shartse College of Gaden University. His other major roles include the Directorial position at the International Geluk Foundation recently, as well as the Deputy General Secretary of the new International Buddhist Confederation on His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s advice. Born in North India, Rinpoche Choden is fluent in English and five other languages. He is referred as the “21st century monk” because of his deep grasp of global age issues and the potential for the Nalanda tradition to help approach them.
